Oephoria

Enjoy Your Wine

I envision this more as a place for people with an interest in wine to interact, share, and learn, then a site with expert wine reviews and articles. Such things are covered amply elsewhere. All content will be created by members. Anyone can join and take full advantage of the social networking tools available here, regardless of their level of wine expertise.

NO PRIOR WINE KNOWLEDGE NECESSARY.

A small number of features can help you get started. I'm hoping to add more if membership can support it.

In the forum you can start conversations within several categories I have thrown together. If you have an idea for an additional section, please let me know and I'll add them after due consideration.

There is also a blog feature where you can write to your heart's content.

Form a group based on location or interest. I hope we can make particular use of this feature. Form a group of people in your town or neighborhood. Do you own or frequent a friendly wine bar? How about a wine tasting group?

Have fun and explore. I'll be justed as interested as you to see how these features are put to use. I've place them here but have yet to put them to extensive use.

You know. It's no wonder that Mt. Eden was so good. They're a wonderful producer, Santa Cruz is great for Chardonnay, and my Wine Vintage Card says '04 was a fantastic vintage for that area.

One of my favorite wineries in the Napa vValley is Cuvaison which is located in the northern most part of Napa County near the town of Calistoga. Their Sauvignon Blanc is delightfully fruity with notes of citrus (lime), & berries, with a palate pleasing finish. Another Napa Valley wine you might enjoy is the Rombauer Carneros Chardonnay 2006. Slightly buttery with lots of fruity notes you will really enjoy with a triple creamy Gouda or any other fine cheese you may favor. If you are on the East coast, you should be able to find Californai labels such as Bogle pinot noir, cabs, merlot at very reasonable price points which will pair with many of your favorite food. If any of you are planning a trip to Calif. I would be glad to give you a few pointers as to some of the best wineries to include in your sojourn. Bob

So glad to join this website, some of my favorite people already members. Just tried Wild Iris, a wonderful white wine by Clark-Claudon, a small winery in Angwin, Ca., Napa Co. We drank a case in a month (hic-cough) with our son & wife, Marcus and Denise, who some of you know. Sat under cooling shade of pine and fir trees and sipped this nectar of the god's. Ohhhh..........

You should mention it or write more about it in the forum, perhaps under the section Bottle Notes

I really like the idea that members can let others know
about wine. they enjoy. For those who like chardonnay, I found that Mount Eden Chardonnay Edna Valley Wolff Vineyard 2004 @ $17.00 pairs really nicely with gouda. Bob
