Actually, I ask generic questions - usually "what do you think about this wine?" Or "What do you know about it?" I like to see if they have anything interesting to tell me or not. If I get excited, then I will ask about another bottle, if they have…
I rarely ask anyone's opinion on wine. I usually ask questions like, "Is this rose bone dry", "Is this Vouvray off-dry?" "Is this a warm region?" But then, I rarely buy wine retail at over $20 if I don't already know something good about it. Who do…
I've always leaned towards having staff of wherever I happen to be drinking/buying be my guiding light. That being said, I've been taken on some expensive, not so worthy trips at more than one table.
If it's a place that I know, or even better, a pl…

Join the San Francisco group and see what's going on. We are just trying to get this going and see if people want to talk about wine. Everyday wine. And the good stuff, of course.
We got lucky on a trip out to Long Island the other day. It's like Napa only even more stretch Hummer limos and bad shiny gold dresses mid-day. Well, we found a brand new winery only making rose with three different Merlot clones. Pretty interesting and unusual stuff. Definitely the secret find we were hoping to unearth. Croteaux Merlot rose. Look out for it!
Hello-
Yes, I shamelessly plug for my papa... But I do love his wines! They'd be out of my everyday price range if it weren't for the family discount. And, no, we do not get wine for free :(
Currently we're selling out without expanding to distributors or outside of CA. We've had some requests & hope to be able to meet them some day... but we have no plans on expanding so I'm not sure that day will come soon.
Many thanks for the intro here.

Sounds good - I am trying to enjoy New York wines - have to dig around a bit as some of the ones I have had are not so great. Then again, I have enjoyed pretty interesting wines. I think it was a red, actually. Hoping to find a good white.
Well, I will do my best to not scare you too much with this cowboy hat!!
kiki, thanks for the comment. No I'm not alarmed be the moustachio but I am deathly afraid of cowboy hats. If I'm playing my Xbox I have to have a pint of Guiness next to me but my wife and I try to have wine with most of our dinners and we are getting pretty good at parry the wine with the food. Now that summer is here we will be sipping some local whites (Vermont, New Hampshire) out on the deck.
